    Boxing is a martial art. The term originated in the West, not Asia, and is derived from latin "Ars" art, way or manner of doing something, (it has nothing to do with art in the sense of say, painting or dance or expressive arts, similar constructions with the word art in this sense would include things like "the art of carpentry, or "the art of warfare" and "Martialis "of or related to Mars, Roman god of war, i.e warfare and violence. It's a common misconception that martial arts were an Asian invention (they're not) and additionally the term itself predates most European contact with the Far East. All human cultures have martial arts, and boxing is one of the oldest and most effective of the many that have originated in the West, and is certainly one of the top striking arts in the world.

    People practice singing, dancing, playing music, drawing, jogging, cycling, chess playing, juggling, magic tricks, wood carving and so on, what a waste of time!!! that's totally ineffective in a street fight. I think you should practice whatever you like, just because it is fun for you. I started my bjj training at the age of 40 about 2.5 years ago, once I have met a guy at some bjj related event, who looked like 50, but with less (even less) experience in bjj, and that person complained that it is to sport oriented and he wants something more practical in a street fight. If he managed to be alive at the estimated age of 50 without fighting skills, what is the urgent need in getting those?

    Without that in his system he still beats Haney that night. His left would've been there all night. Only thing that substance did was help him absorb punches if that because it wasn't a large amount in his system. He needs to fight him again for payback and to show how great he is. Devin game plan was all wrong for that fight

  • @EnochByrd
    @EnochByrd 7 днів тому

    1: People don't mind losses if the boxer is also perceived as someone they'd choose to fight by their side in a brawl. Someone who shows they are willing to "fight." People might perceive Floyd as a little more skilled, but when I ask them to compare, they always tell me they'd rather have Manny back them up. Ain't nobody bringing Devin or Shakur to roll with them in case of a brawl 😂. But they'll bring Tank, Pitbull, and yes, Ryan too. Guys that display a mean streak, a killer instinct, guys that when you watch them, there's actually some tension, some sense of potential danger for their opponent. 2: There's a difference between losing and getting whooped. The best boxers might lose closely contested bouts (Loma-Lopez), or get robbed by the judges (Loma-Haney), or even caught with a well timed KO punch (Ryan, Manny), yet it's shocking to see a p4p level boxer get a beat-down, whooped, sonned, round after round (Devin, Errol). Because of point 1, people would still rather have Errol Spence protecting them in a brawl than other boxers, which is why, as shocking as it was at the time, he wasn't getting clowned the way Devin is or the way Shakur is for WINNING against Edwin. Haney's case is the worst combination of points 1 and 2

    Boxing is the bottom of the barrel LOL. The most limited art there is. You would have zero chance of beating me in a street fight by yourself with just boxing. Whether I push your knee backwards when you come in with a punch. Or I shoot for a double and pick you up in the air and slam your a$$ on the ground. Or I let you in close enough with that boxing and I get a hold of you and hip toss your a$$ LOL. The boxers argument is always, well against untrained people LOL. Not a great way to go about deciding what is best to defend yourself in the real world. You never know who is trained or not. You should always want to be able to do more than just punch. So training pure boxing for self defense is silly. And I grew up pure boxing in the 90s, it's not boxing hate. It's just a realistic perspective of self defense. If your point is that BJJ alone, or judo alone, or any bullshidos like karate and TKD alone, are not better than boxing for self defense, what I would say is that, they are all equally as stupid to learn alone as self defense as boxing is. Tkd, karate, kung fu, shouldn't even be considered. BJJ, wrestling, Judo, boxing, are all too limited to be a good self defense options by themselves. MMA is the best option, but besides MMA, muay thai is second to none.

    Well generaly its not much better but is better couse of human body nature, if u get slamed on ground pined etc its wery bad but with puch or fast leg kick u can be on ground faster than Judo bjj or wreetler cam approach u, they move agresively as bixers allso, but knowin i did boxing they don’t wanna rush, couse they have so much of openings to their head legs thats not normal, i did kickboxing with one friends trainer to show me clinch fight, i mean Elbow specificaly, fought brown judo guy once, he grabed me pull me like train to hem self and started when i was so close to hem to rotate to toss me down but hes face hes Čhin so lowely to see for bam 😂 u can guess i was allmost in air i mean when he pulled me my feet were bearly but couse boxers have insane back schoulder plus big biceps strong dor fast reaction i just pushed my hand on side and punched hes jaw with my elbow and it was ko😂

      @Pap870 haney lost to a powerful hook that he couldn't see coming. The ostarine made Ryan's punches stronger, faster and boosted his cardio. That's a deadly combination. Crazy thing is that Haney still got back up and finished the fight. How u take peds and still go 12 rounds? Better yet, if ryan knew he could beat haney, why take peds? Seems like ryna was doubting himself and made sure he didn't lose to a top fighter again.
